Blackouts can strike at any time and for many different reasons: severe weather, downed power lines, surges in power grids, damage at a substation, or even terrorist strikes. Some blackouts—called rolling blackouts—are necessary for the longevity of the power system and frequently occur during the summer months.
It is important to remind employees about your blackout response plans, especially if rolling blackouts are common, and to back up all critical files.
